Auburn, ME – Jessica Carter Identified in Motorcycle Collision on Main St
Auburn, ME (May 25, 2024) – After an accident with another vehicle occurred in Auburn on Friday evening, a motorcyclist passed away, and officers released updated information related to the incident on Saturday.
At around 5:30 p.m., on Friday, according to the police, they were dispatched to the junction of South Main Street and Witham Road. Investigators claim that a 15-year-old driver tried to turn left onto South Main Street from Witham Road with her mother in the passenger seat.
The girl was operating the vehicle with a learner’s permit. To avoid a collision, Jessica Carter, 40, who was riding a 2010 Kawasaki motorcycle, veered and struck the driver’s side when the driver allegedly pulled out in front of her motorcycle. Carter died at the scene. Officers say she was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident and added that there were no major injuries to the adolescent or her mother. While the collision was being investigated, South Main Street and Witham Road were blocked for several hours. However, an investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
We offer our sincere condolences to Jessica Carter’s family.
