Augusta, ME (June 9, 2024) – Officers with the Augusta Police Department say that a 21-year-old man died from his injuries after a crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan in Augusta on Friday morning, June 7. Police say the crash happened at the Belfast Avenue and Lambert Avenue intersection around 8:45 a.m.
Investigators say the sedan, driven by a 77-year-old man, was turning left onto North Belfast at the time of the crash. The motorcyclist, a 21-year-old man, was traveling on North Belfast Avenue when the collision occurred. The motorcyclist was LifeFlighted to Maine Medical Center, where he died of his injuries at around 1:05 p.m. The driver of the car was taken to Maine General Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. However, the inquiry into the accident is still ongoing, and no additional details have been provided to the public.
