Augusta, ME – Sari Ohmart Identified in Deadly Five-Car Crash on I-95 at Ex 113
Augusta, ME (September 15, 2024) – Maine State Police troopers have identified the woman killed in a five-car crash in Augusta as 68-year-old Sari Ohmart of Brewer. Her husband, 70-year-old Leslie Ohmart, was driving when they were rear-ended by a pickup truck driven by 28-year-old Robin Carter of Limerick.
Traffic was stopped due to a construction zone lane closure at the time of the crash. Officials say Sari and a dog in the car died at the scene. Police said the collision happened shortly before 3:10 p.m. Friday on I-95 southbound near Exit 113. Leslie, Carter, and others injured in the crash were transported to Maine General Hospital in Augusta with non-life-threatening injuries, and all of the cars were towed. The southbound travel lanes were shut down for more than two hours following the crash; however, the incident still remains under investigation.
Our deepest condolences are with Sari Ohmart's family. Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their loved ones in hopes of their full recovery.
