Bangor, ME – Two Hospitalized in Head-on Accident on Rte 1

Bangor, ME (September 19, 2024) – Authorities reported that two people were in the hospital after a head-on crash on Route 1 in Whitneyville on Tuesday.

According to authorities, a 41-year-old man was traveling northbound when he lost control of his vehicle and hit another vehicle. One victim was flown to Eastern Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, while another was also taken with non-life-threatening but serious injuries. Officials say that speed is a suspected factor in the crash, and it is currently under investigation.
