Bethel, ME – Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Walkers Mill Rd

Bethel, ME (June 16, 2024) – Officers with the Bethel Police Department say that one person is dead following a crash involving a car and motorcycle in Bethel that occurred on Saturday evening, June 15.

Per authorities, the incident happened on Walkers Mill Road around 5:00 p.m. Saturday. When officers arrived on the scene, they found that the driver of the motorcycle, a 61-year-old man from Berlin, New Hampshire, was killed in the crash. Authorities say the man was heading north on Walkers Mills Road when a car pulled out of a driveway and hit the motorcycle.

Officials identified the car's driver as a 43-year-old man from Hoover, Alabama. He was not hurt in the crash, though officials arrested the man and charged him with OUI resulting in death and manslaughter. Officers added that he was taken to the Oxford County Jail. However, the inquiry into the accident is still ongoing, and no additional details have been provided to the public.
