Bristol, ME - Allen Millett Identified in Fatal Collision on Bristol Rd

Bristol, ME (December 24, 2024) – Local police reported that a Maine man was killed in a head-on crash in Bristol over the weekend, and authorities have since identified the victim. The crash happened around 3:45 p.m. on Saturday on Bristol Road at the intersection with Walpole Meeting House Road.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by a 65-year-old Southport failed to yield to a vehicle turning onto Walpole Meeting House Road and crossed the center line to pass the vehicle. Deputies say the pickup then crashed head-on into a Volvo Station Wagon driven by 70-year-old Allen Millett of Damariscotta. Millett died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the pickup truck driver was taken to Miles Hospital in Damariscotta with non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies say speed and road conditions are factors in the crash, though there is no word yet on whether any charges will be filed.
