Casco, ME – Man Killed in Collision on Poland Spring Rd

Casco, ME (June 22, 2024) – Local police say that a Casco man has died after crashing his car to avoid a separate collision on Saturday afternoon.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on Poland Spring Road just after 4:00 p.m. Officials say after investigating, they determined that the 38-year-old man crashed into the woods after narrowly missing another vehicle. Police say the man was wearing a seatbelt but suffered fatal injuries and that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash. The crash remains under investigation, but no further details have been provided to the public in the interim. It's also unclear if the other motorist stayed at the scene. Officers asked any witnesses or anybody else with knowledge of the incident to step forward.
