Dresden, ME – Andrew Coombs Identified in Fatal Three-Car Crash on Gardiner Rd

Dresden, ME (September 4, 2024) – The victim of a multi-vehicle collision that resulted in the closure of a portion of Route 27 for several hours on Labor Day is now being identified by Maine authorities.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office reported that Andrew Coombs, 33, of Portland, was pronounced deceased shortly after the three-car collision occurred at approximately 2:35 p.m. on Monday near the intersection of Gardiner Road and Carriage Court in Dresden.

Wiscasset Emergency Medical Services personnel transported a 41-year-old Auburn man, another driver, to Maine Medical Center in Portland after he sustained internal injuries. A 43-year-old woman and her two daughters, aged 10 and 11, were also transported to Maine Medical Center with internal injuries. That said, the cause of the crash is still being investigated. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is requesting that any individual who witnessed the incident or has additional information contact Lt. Brendan Kane or Dep. Samuel Alexander.
