Lebanon, ME – Fatal Head-on Crash on Long Swamp Rd
Lebanon, ME (October 26, 2024) – A man was killed, and three other people were hurt, one seriously, in a head-on crash in Lebanon, Maine, on Friday, officials said. A car crossed into oncoming traffic on Long Swamp Road at about 6:00 p.m., hitting a pickup truck, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.
One of the drivers involved, a 39-year-old Lebanon resident, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. His passenger, a 44-year-old from Berwick, was rushed to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with serious injuries, but she’s expected to survive.
The other driver and passenger also sustained injuries, though further details about their current conditions were not released. The crash was under investigation, but investigators believe alcohol, speed, and reckless driving contributed to what happened. That said, no further details were released in the interim, and the inquiry remains ongoing.
We offer our sincere condolences to the deceased man’s family members. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their loved ones at this time.
Fatal Head-on Accidents in Maine
Unfortunately, severe injuries from auto accidents can occasionally be deadly. Nothing can replace a family member’s loved one lost in a car accident, but pursuing legal action can help families obtain justice and hold the careless driver accountable.
It usually only takes keeping track of bills and demonstrating payment to calculate the costs associated with a loved one’s illness and passing. Loss of support claims are more intricate, however: how much a deceased loved one would have been anticipated to provide to the household going forward determines how such a loss is awarded. The following factors will affect that amount:
- Your loved one’s profession and employment history
- The age of your loved one when they passed away
- The number of dependents your loved one leaves behind is determined by factors including whether a spouse is present, whether they are employed, whether they have dependent children, etc.
Our attorneys present a compelling case to hold the careless motorist liable and award you monetary damages for your losses. We are frequently able to work out a settlement with the insurance providers, but even if it takes going to court, we’re dedicated to helping you achieve the best result possible.
Regardless of how an accident happened, finding a knowledgeable Lebanon auto accident attorney is a crucial step toward getting the justice and compensation you deserve. With a good lawyer, you can focus on what’s important—recovering, mourning your lost loved one, or spending time with your family—while they work on protecting your rights and fighting for you.
