Portland, ME – Motorcyclist Injured in Accident at Brighton Ave & St John St

Portland, ME (June 25, 2024) – Officers with the Portland Police Department say that a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash at the intersection of Brighton Avenue and St. John Street in Portland Monday evening, and now police are trying to locate a car they say may have been involved.

Portland police said in a news release a 36-year-old motorcyclist was traveling west on Brighton Avenue when a car headed east on Brighton turned left onto Noyes Street and struck the motorcyclist. The driver then fled the scene. Police said they responded to the crash around 5:10 p.m., and the motorcyclist was brought to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. No charges have been filed at this time, police added, but those with information regarding the crash are asked to call the PPD.
