Richmond, ME – Mark Judd Identified in Deadly Collision on Rte 201 at Brunswick

Richmond, ME (August 15, 2024) – Authorities say a young man from Maine was the victim of a fiery crash that happened last weekend in Richmond, and authorities have since identified the victim.

Mark J. Judd, 20, of Richmond, was killed when his pickup truck collided with another truck on Route 201, the Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Office announced Monday morning. Investigators said that at about 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, Judd was driving his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado north when he collided with a 2003 Ford F-250 just north of the intersection of Brunswick and Thorofare Roads.

The F-250 overturned onto its side as a result of the crash while Judd's Silverado careened into the ditch of the southbound lane, where it burst into flames. Officials said Judd was trapped in the burning truck and died as a result. However, the events leading up to the incident are still under inquiry, and no further details were released in the interim.
