Rome, ME – Woman Airlifted After Motorcycle Crash on Watson Pond Rd
Rome, ME (September 20, 2024) – According to authorities, an 18-year-old woman was seriously injured when her motorcycle was involved in a collision with an SUV on Friday afternoon, September 20. The incident took place in Rome toward Mount Vernon around 1:05 p.m., on 1008 Watson Pond Road.
LifeFlight of Maine took the motorcycle driver from the scene of the crash, and Delta Ambulance took the SUV driver. The driver of the motorcycle was traveling with two other motorcyclists who were not involved in the crash. A section of Watson Pond Road was temporarily closed while first responders cleared the scene.
In addition to Rome Fire & Rescue, Belgrade Fire & Rescue, Kennebec County Sheriff’s Department, and the Maine State Police responded to the crash. However, Maine State Police Troopers are currently reconstructing the accident, and no additional details have been provided to the public.
