Saco, ME - Driver Airlifted Following Collision on I-95 SB
December 29, 2024

Saco, ME (December 29, 2024) – According to a press release from Saco authorities,  the I-95 southbound lanes have reopened after several crashes on Friday night. Nearly a 10-mile stretch of I-95 SB had been closed for over two hours following multiple crashes Friday night.

The first crash occurred before 4:30 p.m., with at least one more collision happening as a result of backed-up traffic. When troopers arrived, they found one driver trapped inside their vehicle. The Scarborough, Portland, and South Portland Fire Departments and several tow trucks quickly responded to ensure his safe extraction. LifeFlight promptly landed nearby and transported the victim to Maine Medical Center in Portland, while other drivers received treatment at the scene. Officers with the SPD asked any other witnesses to the crash to step forward.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their loved ones.

Injury Car Accidents in Maine

Unfortunately, severe injuries from auto accidents may sometimes be deadly. While there is no way to bring back the loved one you lost in an auto accident, you can hold the irresponsible driver accountable and get justice by filing a lawsuit. You can never be ready for the loss of a loved one in a tragic vehicle accident. Burial and medical costs, loss of income or health benefits, and other issues may severely burden the victims of a loved one's wrongful death.

However, when a deceased individual would have been eligible to pursue a personal injury claim had they lived, a wrongful death claim may be made in the state of Maine against the defendant. This usually refers to wrongdoing, negligence, or default on the part of another individual that causes another person to pass away.
