Sanford, ME – Three Hurt in Box Truck Crash on Alfred Rd

Sanford, ME (May 21, 2024) – Several people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following a box truck crash that occurred on Monday in Sanford. On May 20, the police and firefighters were called to the scene of the crash during the morning hours.

Official reports indicate that a box truck and a black sedan collided in front of the Harry’s Convenience Store, located in the 400 block of Alfred Road at around 9:30 a.m. The incident prompted authorities to close down the roadway near the intersection of New Damn Road. Two people involved in the accident were transported to Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford for emergency care. One additional victim was transported by helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Sanford. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
