Shirley, ME – Eight Injured in Two-Car Crash on Greenville Rd

Shirley, ME (July 21, 2024) – Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a two-car crash that happened shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Greenville Road in Shirley on Saturday evening, July 20.

Authorities determined that a driver crossed the center line, hitting an oncoming car on the opposite side of the road. Eight people were injured: four adults and four kids ranging from five to nine years old. Officers further confirmed that a five-year-old was life-flighted to Eastern Maine Medical Center, where he remains in serious but stable condition, and all other victims were transported to Nothern Light CA Dean Hospital. In the meantime, the incident is still under investigation, and authorities say further details will be available in the coming weeks.
