Vassalboro, ME - Two Hospitalized in Rollover Crash on Rte 201/Riverside Dr

Vassalboro, ME (July 12, 2024) – Two people were hospitalized Thursday after a rollover crash, authorities said Friday. According to Vassalboro Fire Chief Walker Thompson, the incident took place on Riverside Drive (Route 201) around 4:15 p.m.

A 43-year-old man was unresponsive and trapped in one of the vehicles when firefighters arrived, Thompson said. A LifeFlight helicopter from Maine was initially called to fly the victim to a nearby hospital. However, firefighters pulled him from the car and loaded him into an ambulance before the helicopter arrived, Thompson added. At least one other person was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta with non-life-threatening injuries, though no further details were released. At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
