Westbrook, ME (July 14, 2024) – Officers with the Westbrook Police Department stated that crews responded to a major collision on Friday, July 12, resulting in the reopening of a section of Route 302 in Westbrook near the Windham town line several hours after the initial incident.

According to posts on the respective social media platforms of Westbrook and Windham police, they advised travelers to seek alternative routes at approximately 3:30 p.m. Emergency officials redirected traffic at Hardy Road and Duck Pond Road during the closure. As of 5:45 p.m., the road had been reopened. At least one injury was reported in the crash, but the nature and extent of the victim's injuries are not known at this time. However, the crash remains under investigation, and no additional information has been released.
