Workers’ Compensation Wednesdays

Workers’ Compensation Wednesdays
January 23, 2019

After you inform your employer that you have been injured, there are several things your employer is required to do. Your employer must complete a document known as the First Report of Injury and provide you with a copy of that document. Your employer must also report the injury to the workers’ compensation insurance company and the Workers’ Compensation Board within fourteen (14) days of being informed of your injury. Your employer also has the right to ask you to initially receive treatment from a doctor of the employer’s choosing. You must exclusively seek treatment from that doctor for a period of at least ten (10) days. After that, you may treat with any provider you wish, including your own doctor. More essential workers’ comp info from our in-house attorney, Laura Goldsmith, coming next week!
