All employers in the state of Maine are required to have a type of insurance known as Workers’ Compensation that offers benefits to employees who are injured on the job. If you are hurt while working, the most important thing you need to do is let your employer know right away! Failing to inform your employer within thirty (30) days that you have been injured could result in a denial of any benefits you may otherwise have been entitled to.
